In a February month, as I was driving through Arkemheenpolder near Nijkerk (Gelderland province), I saw Blondie perching on a moss covered pole.

After opening my car window and positioning my gear on a beanbag, I managed to carefully drive to a spot right next to her and parked my car.

I heard her plaintive cries. and I tried to answer them to let her know I sympathized with her, sitting out there on that wet, windy and dark day.

This happened 6 years ago.

So, by now, my Blondie may have moved on to her eternal hunting grounds †, as the average life span of this species is around 8 years.

During my lasts visits to the polder I haven't seen her around.
but I'm sure I will see her reincarnation one day.
